The Mayor of Morley led a very emotional Lights Out ceremony last night to commemorate the start of World War One.

Coun Wyn Kidger, who was joined by around 50 people in the town centre, said: “I read a few notes, psalms and a story of a soldier who survived the trenches. He was one of only two that survived out of 32 in his battalion, so sad.”
The ceremony finished with the Lords Prayer and at 10pm candles were put out and a two minutes silence was held.
