East Ardsley Post Office is getting a modern make-over and will also have its opening hours extended.
The post office on Bradford Road will be modernised into a main-style open-plan branch with its opening hours being extended by 20 hours per week.
As part of the plans the post office will have three serving positions, one which will be a traditional screened position and the other two open plan.
Opening hours will be 9am-5.30pm Monday to Saturday and selected services will be made available from the retail counter from 6.30am-9am every morning.
The post office will be closed for refurbishment from 5.30pm on Monday, February 17 with the new-look branch opening at 1pm on Wednesday, February 26. During that time, customers are advised that they can use Haigh Moor Road Post Office in West Ardsley and Batley Post Office on Upper Commercial Street, Batley.
Post Office area manager Sarah Sampson said: “We understand how important Post Office services are to people and we are confident that this new modern Post Office will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.
“The modernisation is part of a major investment programme to convert the Post Office network to new-style branches and this investment marks a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
