Man hospitalised after Morley town centre attack

A man was assaulted on Queen Street and left with a broken jaw following a night out in Morley.

The 29-year-old had just left a local night club when he was approached by three white men, in the early hours of Sunday.
The victim, from the Beeston area, was walking along with a female friend when the men started shouting abuse at them. 
The men then preceded to attack the man by punching him, leaving him with serious injuries. The incident happened between 3am and 3.30am, outside the town hall.
Insp Paul Sullivan who leads Morley Neighbourhood Policing Team said that such “nasty” assaults were rare in Morley. 
“We don’t want to tolerate this sort of behaviour in Morley,” he said. 
The victim remains in hospital at Leeds General Infirmary, where he is awaiting surgery. Enquiries are ongoing and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward. Anyone with information should call police on: 0113 2382035 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
