Pupils at Morley Academy took part in the news gathering event.

Students from the Morley Academy were reporting on local and national stories for the BBC school report day.

On Thursday the 11 students chose the missing Malaysian aircraft as their headline story as well as Leeds Book Awards and the controversial paternity leave proposals.

Three sixth form students spent the day filming interviews linked to Hull’s nomination as City of Culture.

Peter Lerums in Year 9 said: “This gave us a chance to be a real reporter for the day, and to report on real stories that are actually happening all over the world.”
