For the tenth year running Morley Community Church has invited 11 overseas students to the town for a ten day Community Links programme.

The project, called Community Links Week, will run from March 1 and the student team will be involved with a range of initiatives, including children’s clubs, youth events, pensioner’s luncheons, coffee mornings, special projects in schools, church services and other functions.

The students are currently studying theology at Capernwray College near Lancaster but hail from different parts of the globe. Four are originally from America while another four are from Canada, two from Germany and one from Egypt.

Having never even heard of Morley until recently they were invited to spent a week getting to know the town.

They were given a tour of the shops and key heritage sites such as the town hall, war memorial, Beryl Burton Gardens, statutes and were also introduced to community leaders.
