Under 17s are being given a more equal chance to win the short story competition at this year’s Morley Literature Festival.

Organisers of the competition, run by the Friends of Morley Literature Festival, added a second category for any stories written by 12 to 17 year olds to make it fairer.

Prizes will remain the same, a first prize of £50, second of £30 and third of £20, entries already sent in by under 17s have been moved into the new section.

Both competitions close on July 1, email fmlitfest@yahoo.com to get a full list of all the rules before putting pen to paper.
