Morley looking for new councillor

Morley Town Council is advertising for a new member to fill the Scatcherd ward left vacant after former leader Paul Cook’s resignation last month.

Prospective applicants must be aged 18 or over and either live or work in the town, or be registered as a local government elector for Morley.

Candidates for the role will be asked to give a short five minute presentation about themselves at the next Full Council meeting on September 3, where the new councillor will be selected.

Mayor Wyn Kidger: “We need someone who’s got the time and is willing to work hard for Morley.

“There’s so much scope within the civic duties of the role to get involved and show support for the town.

Applications for the role must include a letter and be made before the deadline of 1pm on August 28.
