Police are cracking down on car crime in the Morley area.

Police are cracking down on car crime in the Morley area.

Morley police have launched an initiative to curb theft from motor vehicle offences in the area.

The phrase ‘Don’t make your car a shop window for thieves’ is being used to highlight how thieves target vehicles for your valuables.

Ward manager PC Chris Dibbs said: “Following a increase in thefts from vehicles around the Peel Street area I would like to appeal to our community be aware that thieves will target your vehicle if provided with the opportunity.

“Work is being done to locate and deal with the offenders and we have increased our presence in the area but can I ask the public to remain vigilant and not make it easy for the would be thief.”

PC Dibbs is keen to hear from members of the community with information who may be receiving stolen items and can be contacted on 101, the police non-emergency number, or alternatively information can be given in confidence to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
