KEEP an eye on your purses is the message from Morley police.
A number of purse thefts have been reported at the White Rose Shopping Centre over the last few weeks, as well as one from Greggs in Windsor Court.
The thieves are believed to be approaching people from behind, unzipping bags and taking purses out.
Insp Paul Sullivan from Morley NPT, said: “At this time of year people are out doing their Christmas shopping and some will have quite a lot of money on them.
“Thieves are aware of this.
“People need to be aware that thieves are in the area and I urge them to keep their purses and valuables close to them.”
Insp Sullivan said anyone who sees anything suspicious while out shopping should call the police straight away on 101.
