Morley to perform for St George’s Day at Leeds Minster

A service will be held for St George’s Day at Leeds Minster featuring a Morley brass band and local choirs.

On Wednesday, April 30 at 7.30pm the service will be held to honour the patron saint of England.

Before the service, and throughout, there will be music from Drighlington Band, then there will be readings from Morley councillor Bob Gettings who is also the Chairman of the Leeds Branch of the Royal Society St George.

The choir of Morley Academy will perform as well as the choir of Leeds Minister who will sing Give us the Wings of Faith.

The Deputy Mayor, Coun Judith Elliott will read William Wordsworth’s Daffodils.

Morley Music Society are due to perform With Proud Thanksgiving then the Right Reverend James Bell will give the blessing after which the national anthem will be sung by all.
