MP for Morley and Outwood, Ed Balls, has visited the recently refurbished Morley Post Office to take a look at its new services.
The refurbishment has brought changes to the branch, including a new open-plan layout and extended operating hours.
The Post Office hopes these changes will improve the customer experience, whilst also offering a brighter, more modern premises.
The Shadow Chancellor was also there to welcome in the new Post Office current account products, with Morley being one of the first in the country to offer them.
Mr Balls was enthusiastic about the economic state of Morley.
He said: “After a few difficult years Morley is really on the up.”
He pointed towards the free WiFi coming to the town, more shops opening and the post office refurbishment as some of the major improvements.
He also said he would encourage people to use the post office.
Morley Post Office manager, David Siddle, said they were “delighted to be offering the current account” and saw it as “an important step” for the branch.
