A support group aimed at helping grieving parents and their families through the devastating loss of a child has been set up in Morley.

Butterfly Babies in a non-profit organisation founded by Clare Walker, who lost baby daughter Courtney Jade in 2004, at just three-and-a-half hours old.

Clare, with the help of others, now runs the online group on social networking site, Facebook, offering a sympathetic ear to those in need of support.

Clare, of Hawley Way, Morley said: “It’s something I have wanted to do for a while now and have been supported by my husband, Damian along with friends and family.

“Our mission is to offer online help and financial support, for things such as headstones, by fundraising for grieving families that have lost babies or children of any age or gestation of pregnancy.”

Fundraisers have already started crocheting and knitting blankets and selling them for just a donation to Butterfly Babies and more fundraising events are being planned for the near future.
