Campaigners have welcomed concerns raised by Leeds City Council over plans for developing a green field site in East Ardsley.
A visit was made to the Church Fields site by the council’s City Plans Panel yesterday who raised significant concerns about the proposal to build 299 homes on the green field.
Comments from the panel included that the development did not meet the planning policies for that type of land and also commented that existing areas with their own character would be synthetically joined by the development and that major highways issues have not been resolved.
Whilst the panel made no decision in the meeting, they did make clear that they were not supporting these proposals being brought forward at the current time.
