Police issue description of Tingley robber
News update
DETECTIVES are hunting a masked robber who confronted a 63-year-old woman in her Tingley home.
At around 8am yesterday a man forced his way into the house on Batley Road and demanded money.
He then left after stealing two china tea sets and a number of jewellery items. He was last seen on foot heading towards South View.
One of the tea sets was Regency Bone China with a horse and hound pattern. The other features a ‘carousel’ type design.
The robber is described as white, around 5ft 6ins tall and had a distinctive teardrop tattoo near his eye. He possibly spoke with an Irish accent and was wearing a black coat, dark trousers and black shoes. He was also carrying two white carrier bags.
The victim of the robbery was taken to Pinderfields Hospital following the incident for treatment to a minor head injury.
Enquiries are ongoing but officers are treating the robbery as a targeted incident.
Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact DC 3829 Richard Hulme at Holbeck CID via the non-emergency number, 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously and in confidence on 0800 555 111.
