Police have named the woman who died in a car crash at Drighlington bypass on Friday.

Kellie Marie Robertshaw, 28, from Heckmondwike, died at the scene of the accident on Field Head Lane at around 11pm after her black Vauxhall Astra, travelling towards Bradford, was in collision with a white Peugeot Blipper van travelling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the van, a 68-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.

Det Sgt Carole Greaves, of the Major Collision Enquiry Team, said: “Although enquiries are still in their early stages, we believe the Astra might have misjudged a bend which led to it being in collision with the Bipper.”

Anyone who saw either vehicle prior to the collision is asked to contact DC 2752 Lowdon at the Major Collision Enquiry Team via 101.
