Police hunting Morley bank robbers

ROBBERS snatched a cash box from a security guard’s hand in the middle of a busy Morley town centre yesterday lunchtime.

The female security guard was delivering cash to Lloyds TSB on Queen Street at around 12.20pm when a white male grabbed the cash box from her hand.

The man ran off along Wellington Street before getting into a sliver Nissan Micra and leaving the scene. The Micra was recovered shortly afterwards on Marshall Close.

The security guard was uninjured in the incident.

CID officers sealed off the area around the bank while carrying out initial enquiries with buses and cars being directed along Queen Street.

City and Holbeck CID are continuing inquiries and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the car on Marshall Close to contact them on 0845 6060606.
