Prashad in Drighlington has been shortlisted for a top award.

A Drighlington restaurant has been shortlisted for one of the most sought after awards in the region.

Prashad in Whitehall Road has been named in the Restaurant of the Year category of the White Rose Awards run by Welcome to Yorkshire.

The awards will be judged by Colin Mellors, Pro-Vice-Chancellor at the University of York, food writer Elaine Lemm, Nicola Furbisher, managing editor of The Yorkshire Post and Yorkshire Evening Post and customer services expert Mark Bradley.

Tickets go on sale soon for the ceremony, with a location and date set to be announced in the near future.

Prashad, a vegetarian Indian restaurant, also opened a new venture in Leeds city centre on Friday.

Its chefs have teamed up with Bradford’s Sparrow Bier Café at Bundobust in Mill Hill.

Prashad will be providing Indian street food promising dishes that are rarely served up in the UK.
