The Morley Academy has been celebrating its pupils’ hard work and dedication with a presentation evening.

A range of prizes were presented to pupils at a special ceremony with a few known faces sharing their proud moment.

Martin Atkinson, FIFA referee and former pupil of the school, was guest speaker and the Deputy Mayor of Morley, Coun Simon Kimberley, was also there on the night.

One of the Academy’s vice principals, Richard Carter, said: “Prize giving is a celebrating of all that is outstanding at The Morley Academy.

“The hall is full of students receiving prizes and certificates and their parents and carers, as well as the whole teaching and governing bodies.

“We are very proud of our students and it is important that prizes are awarded for behaviour, attendance and progress as well as academic achievement.

“Many of our prizes are in honour of ex-students and staff of the school.”

Martin Atkinson said: “It’s been a great honour to be at the evening and see so many students being successful.”
