CHARITY buckets were being filled at Sainsbury’s at the White Rose Shopping Centre as shoppers helped raise money for research into kidney disease.
Representatives from St James’s Hospital’s Kidney Patients’ Association set up a stall in the store raising awareness and giving advice about the disease as well as collecting donations to help the cause.
The association supports the renal unit at the hospital, which is the largest in the UK treating over 800 patients a month.
They help patients and their families deal with the diagnosis of kidney problems and aim to raise awareness of diagnosis, treatment, dialysis and also promote the Organ Donor Register.
