Gildersome is preparing itself for one of its busiest Sundays of the year on June 22 when its popular annual Scarecrow Festival takes place.
Each year hundreds of residents turn out and their numbers are swelled with an influx of visitors to the vilage.
The traditional festival will include Maypole dancing by Gildersome Primary School, a puppeteer, Gawthorpe Brass Band and this year, for the first time, a miniature steam railway will be offering rides on the Green.
The Morley Bluebell Majorettes will also appear.
The organisers, Gildersome Parish Council, are asking that everyone who wishes to enter a scarecrow to do so by the end of May. This is crucial in order that the trail brochure can be prepared.
