People who park irresponsibly outside schools could face their vehicles being towed.
Insp Paul Sullivan, who leads Morley Neighbourhood Policing Team, is appealing to drivers to have some consideration when parking outside schools before there is a fatal accident.
He said: “There have been many complaints about people parking irresponsibly outside schools, particularly on Rein Road and we can’t have a scenario where the public’s lives are being put at risk.
“We will be sending a clear message to those people over the coming weeks by moving on from warnings to actual enforcement.
“Tickets will be issued and vehicles will be towed.
“We have worked with residents, schools and parents and agree it’s only a matter of time before some people’s luck runs out and a child is seriously injured or there is a fatal accident on these roads.”
