Slideshow: Seven Hills Primary celebrates World Book Day

Waiting for Video...

It was a day made for young bookworms as schools throughout the Morley area celebrated the joys of reading.

Children dressed up as their favourite book characters to mark the 17th World Book Day, with costumes inspired by everything from the Cat in the Hat and Where’s Wally? to fairytales and pirate adventures.

The theme at Seven Hills Primary School was the books of Julia Donaldson.

Pupils dressing up as characters from her stories, including Tabby McTat, What the Ladybird Heard, The Gruffalo, The Highway Rat, Princess Mirror-Belle and The Troll.

Teachers also dressed as characters, hosted activities linked to the different books and lead a special assembly.
