CALLING all Drighlington folk!
Do you have any news you would like to share with the rest of the village? Have you an event that you would like to invite everyone to?
If so, then pay a visit to the volunteers at Drighlington Library who are now the Observer & Advertiser’s new District Digest correspondents.
The library, on Moorland Road, was given a last minute reprieve last year as plans to axe 15 across the city were revealed by Leeds City Council bosses.
Following public consultation, it was decided that Drighlington Library would remain open and be run by the community.
It closed for about a month in October, marking the end of Leeds City Council’s involvement, allowing the volunteers to re-catalogue and install new computer systems.
The new opening hours are, Monday 10am-2pm, Tuesday 9am-7pm, Wednesday 10am-2pm, Thursday 10am-2pm, Friday 10am-6pm and Saturday 10am-noon.
There are also many activities and groups being held at the library and everyone is welcome to pop in and have a browse.
There is a box on the counter for the Observer & Advertiser for anyone wanting to drop-off any news, or alternatively call 0113 2853740 or email drighlington.library@yahoo.co.uk and the information will be passed onto us to appear in the paper.
