The Miners Arms pub has re-opened after being taken over by pub management group FGPC Ltd who hope to restore it to its former glory.
After years of struggling to attract sufficient custom, the former landlord moved on leaving the new firm to take over the reins.
Jon Lilly and his business partner Joe Horne have put experienced general manger Pete Hayes at the helm, with the initial plan being to get the Albert Road pub’s doors open, the beer taps flowing and a new food menu.
New dishes include American inspired burgers, subs and hot dogs.
Pete is also planning a family-friendly summer fete and local beer festival across the August bank holiday, which will act as an unofficial relaunch.
For phase two of the relaunch, the pub will undergo an extensive refurbishment to get the interior and exterior up to scratch for autumn and winter.
