A big-hearted Thorpe schoolgirl has officially unveiled an emergency device that could be the difference between life and death.
Cody Hartley, 12, wrote to Asda head office to congratulate them on plans to equip more than 500 stores nationwide with defibrillators.
Inspirational Cody, who has raised thousands of pounds to have the devices installed in her community, was asked to unveil the lifesaving machine at Morley’s Asda store.
Cody has received high-profile support for her mission to have the vital piece of equipment installed in schools across the country.
And the Morley store also presented her with a defibrillator for her to donate to an organisation of her choice.
Cody said: “I was over-the-moon to receive the defibrillator which will help make a huge difference to our community.”
Asda Morley community life champion Maxine Green added: “Cody has demonstrated all that’s good about our young people and so it seemed fitting to ask her to officially unveil our new defibrillator.
“We also wanted to thank her for all of her hard work by presenting Cody with a defibrillator and an Asda gift card.”
