A dad from Tingley is in a “race against time” to raise money for a life-saving treatment which could save his daughter’s life.
Jason Furniss needs to raise £350,000 to send his nine-year-old daughter Mackenzie, who has been diagnosed with neuroblastoma, for treatment in Germany. Mackenzie’s aunt Amanda Shaw – also from Tingley – is hoping to raise some of the cash. She said: “I was devastated when I found out. She is still smiling but very tired.” Mrs Shaw added: “I have to do something as I can’t bear the thought of anything happening to Mackenzie.” Mrs Shaw is holding a family fun day for her niece on Monday at Tingley Working Men’s Club from 1pm-5pm.
