As new convenience store opening in Tingley next week will celebrate its launch with a double donation to local primary schools.

Children and staff from both Blackgates and Westerton primary schools will be the guests of honour when the new Tesco Express store opens on Tuesday May 20 on Westerton Road and they will be invited to cut the ribbon and declare the new store officially open.

Store manager Ahmed Vachhiyat and his team will present each school with a cheque for £250 as part of its commitment to supporting the local community.

Ahmed said: “My team and I appreciate that both Blackgates and Westerton primary schools are an integral part of the Tingley community.

“We are delighted to be able to invite them to launch our store and to present them each with a £250 donation.

“My team and I are looking forward to opening the doors on Tuesday.

“I am proud to be playing a part, along with my team, in breathing new life into the heart of the local community.”

The doors of the new Tesco Express store will open for the first time at 8am on Tuesday.

The official opening and presentation will take place at 10.30am.

Store opening hours will be seven days a week from 6am-11pm and for added convenience the store will have a free cash machine, self-service tills, Click & Collect, mobile phone top-up facility, National Lottery counter, bakery, beers, wines and spirits.

Parking will also be available for customers in front of the new store.
