Tionne sets her sights on singing fame
Nine-year-old Tionne Pringle who has just come second out of the whole of south Leeds in a talent contest
A MORLEY schoolgirl certainly hit the right notes at a talent competition and now has her sights set on appearing on the country’s biggest talent show.
Nine-year-old Tionne Pringle, of Harrop Avenue, put her vocal talents to the test when entering Junior Superstars, part of the I Love South Leeds festival.
Tionne, a pupil at Middleton Primary School, made it through to the final of the competition after judges saw spotted her potential.
Mum Michelle said: “She initially sang with a couple of friends dancing behind her but the organisers were so impressed that they asked her to do the show by herself.
“She loves singing and dancing, she’s quite an outdoors kid but every evening she is in her room, singing and playing her guitar.
“She has never had lessons, but she somehow manages to strum a tune. She even writes songs and has filled two books with song lyrics.
“She likes all kind of music, from general pop to musicals and has always been a keen fan of Beyonce. I think she may have the makings of a diva!”
At the final of the Superstars contest, Tionne battled it out on stage against 20 other acts, singing Make You Feel My Love by Adele.
Michelle said: “She went wrong through nerves and had to start again, but then she belted it out. Apparently there were bets as to who was going to win - between her and the eventual winners The Glee Club. It was so close.
“She came second and although she lost out to a great choir, the fact that she achieved this by herself with no help is fantastic.”
After her local success, Tionne is now ready to battle it out against thousands of others and has applied to audition for ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent.
“She loves singing and I’m sure she has a great future.
“We as parents are so proud of her and her dad says he feels like the proudest parent in the world.”
