VIDEO: Drighlington Beer Festival’s organiser on how local newspapers matter

A Drighlington landlord has told of how coverage both on our website and in our pages has benefitted community events.

A co-organiser of the annual Drighlington Beer Festival, which recently featured in the Morley Observer & Advertiser, Paul Horne, landlord of the Spotted Cow in Whitehall Road, said the paper had an important part to play in his successful charity and community work.

Punters had also come from further afield to the pub than expected as a result of articles in our papers, he said.

The Morley Observer & Advertiser and the Reporter Series are joining papers around the UK in support of Local Newspaper Week.

This year’s theme is Making a Difference and will highlight the power of local newspapers.

Every day we’ve been sharing a different video showing how our newspapers make a difference to the lives of the individuals and communities they serve.
