HISTORY buffs had a treat at the weekend with two heritage tours of Morley.
Morley Town Council, in conjunction with Morley Community Archives, arranged the tours, which started on Saturday with a look around Morley Town Hall,
Visitors were shown around the Victorian building’s interior and exterior and to areas not usually open to the public.
The large and small banqueting hall were seen along with the council chamber’s oak panelled walls, the courtroom, as seen in ITV soap Emmerdale, the jail and the Mayor’s Parlour.
Then on Sunday, Morley Heritage Trial started in Windsor Court before heading off with the tour’s guide, local historian Dr Clive McManus,
The tour began with a stroll through Morley’s industrial heritage, visiting a number of historic buildings before taking a look at over 60 archive photographs and hearing fascinating historical facts and tales.
