Officers from British Transport Police are appealing for information after a woman was racially abused whilst working in Leeds railway station.

In a bid to trace the man they believe may be able to help with their enquiries, officers have today released a CCTV image in hope that someone may recognise him.

The incident happened around 9pm on Saturday May 17 in McDonald’s fast food outlet in the station.

PC Dan Worthington, the investigating officer, said: “The victim, a 22-year-old woman from Leeds, was working in McDonalds when she was racially abused by a customer.

“Understandably she was left extremely upset and distressed by what the man said to her.

“If you recognise the man pictured, or have any information that you think will assist officers, please contact us.

“We take all reports of racist behaviour very seriously, and will not tolerate abuse of this kind in stations or on trains.”
