Pupils at Woodkirk Academy spread plenty of festive cheer when the school hosted its annual senior citizens’ Christmas party.
More than 100 guests from the local community were treated to lunch, refreshments and entertainment .
A spokeswoman for the school said: “It was an action packed afternoon which the senior citizens thoroughly enjoyed. We have our own resident Santa Claus who keeps everyone entertained as well as live music and dancing from students.
“John Sussens and the year 12 pupils did an amazing job to organise the event and made sure the visitors have everything they need.
“Another extremely successful and enjoyable afternoon was had by all. Well done Woodkirk!”
Guests enjoyed a raffle during which everyone got a prize, games of bingo and dancing with the pupils.
