A WOULD-BE burglar was caught after leaving his mobile phone behind.

The 31-year-old broke into a house on Appleby Way, Morley, in the early hours of January 1 and was confronted by the 84-year-old female occupant.

He continuously shouted to her that he wasn’t going to hurt her before making his escape.

Police found his mobile phone at the house, made enquiries and he was arrested.

He has since been bailed pending a court appearance.
