Yorkshire Building Society’s Morley branch welcomed guests including the town’s MP Ed Balls and first-time buyers to help celebrate its 40th birthday.
Mr Balls had the chance to meet the staff and also first-time buyers who have sought help from the society.
Mike Sketch, Head of Customer and Channel Experience at Yorkshire Building Society, said: “The Yorkshire has been providing help and support for families in Morley for 40 years and in that time the society has become part of the community by putting its members at the heart of everything it does.

“As an organisation we really are built on trust and to be stood here, 40 years after we first opened, is a testament to that. We are really looking forward to the next 40 years.”

Mr Balls said: “It was fantastic to meet young people who, with help from Yorkshire Building Society, have been able to buy their own home. The society has played a key role in Morley and I know it gives a lot back through its various charitable schemes to really make a difference in the town.”
