British Transport Police has released images of a man they would like to speak to after a man was assaulted in Wetherspoons pub in Leeds railway station.

The incident took place on Sunday October 19 just after 11.30pm.

PC Chris Coombs said: “The 24-year-old victim was in the pub with a group of friends when he got into a verbal altercation with another man.

“Staff working in the bar attempted to intervene but the man became increasingly aggressive and hit the victim in the face.

“The victim received damage to his left eye which required hospital treatment.

“This was a violent and unprovoked assault and it’s important that we trace the person responsible. We believe the man pictured may be able to assist with our enquiries into this incident. If you recognise him please contact us.”
