There was a surprise for shoppers at the White Rose Shopping Centre when a flash mob of eight dancers from Northern Ballet’s ability class joined six Young Ambassadors from Mencap for an impromptu performance.

The dancers attended as part of a day of fun, entertainment and information sharing held at the centre on behalf of the charity.

The event also included a magician, Mencap’s popular Creative Spirit Gallery and Halloween themed games and was designed to help raise awareness and funds for the work of the charity which supports young people with learning disabilities.

This year it is the national fundraising partner for Land Securities, which owns and runs the White Rose Centre.

As well as the surprise dancing, there was lots of entertainment in the store, including a magician and games as part of the event, which aimed to raise funds and awareness for the work that Mencap does.
