Pupils at Morley Academy have been helping their peers in Sri Lanka by collecting books.

Children were asked to donate books in good condition which will be sent to the Asian country for use in school libraries.

Sri Lanka is still facing a struggle to rebuild educational facilities which were destroyed in the 2004 tsunami.

Morley Academy has sent 555 books suitable for children aged 4-16 to York Minster Lions Club, who are co-ordinating the region’s Library in a Box project.
