Rehearsals for this year’s Morley Amateur Operatic Society (MAOS) performance are in full swing in preparation for their opening night in three weeks time.
MAOS are pleased to welcome two cast members for their production of Cinderella, with her evil stepmother being played by Suzé Trim from Huddersfield and Prince Charming will be played by Charlotte Thornton.
Both newcomers have thoroughly enjoyed being part of the society.
Suzé said: “MAOS is such a friendly society. It feels like I’ve been there for years. Hopefully this is the first of many shows with them.”
Charlotte said: “It can sometimes be a little daunting to audition and play a part with a new group, but everyone has been so lovely.”
Society spokesman Steven Holt said: “Although we have a very good nucleus of members, we’re always keen to attract and welcome anyone that wants to join. “It’s testimony to the quality of our productions that new members want to be involved and it’s proof of our friendly, family atmosphere that they want to stay.”
Cinderella will be performed at Morley Town Hall from Thursday, February 6 to Sunday, February 9 with performances at 7.15pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and matinees at 2.15pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Tickets will be on sale in Morley Market over the next three Friday and Saturdays between 9.30am-noon.
Steven said that there are plenty of tickets left for all performances, but advised that anyone wanting tickets should get to the market sooner rather than later over the next three weekends.
He said: “We had a very good turnout last weekend, our audience really like to turn up in person to book their seats and pay for their tickets. If anyone is unable to obtain their tickets in person, they can still order by calling 07960766334.”
