A refurbished Co-op food store, which opens in Mirfield tomorrow, will be one of the first in the UK to bear the new back to the future Co-op logo.

The store in Nab Lane, which has created three new jobs and represents a £320,000 investment by the Co-op, will feature the ‘clover leaf’ logo, first used in the late 1960’s.

The iconic symbol is being re-introduced to highlight the Co-op’s heritage, while providing a fresh identity to signal the changes to its membership.

Natalie Evans, Manager of the new-look store, said: “We are thrilled to have made such a significant investment in Nab Lane and delighted that we have a fantastic new food store with which to serve the community – it is an exciting time for the whole team.

“The Co-operative is a community retailer, and we are committed to playing an active role in local life, embracing the area’s community spirit.

“We are proud to be one of the first stores in the UK to display our new Co-op logo and I am confident we will provide the community with everything needed.”
