Budding Paul Hollywoods are being invited to take part in a village cafe’s Great Gildersome Bake-Off.
Café Sorella in Street Lane is to host the competition and a coffee morning to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
People can take part by taking in their own baked goods, which will be sold at the café and the proceeds will go directly to Macmillan.
The event will also include Macmillan sweepstakes and raffle prizes. The cafe’s owners, Karen Rowan and Julie Snellgrove, came up with the idea because they are avid fans of The Great British Bake-Off.
“We thought it would fit in well alongside the Macmillan Coffee Morning to run a local ‘Bake Off’ competition at Sorella to raise money for an amazing charity.” said Julie.
“We are also very lucky to have the Mayor of Morley and members of Gildersome Parish Council to judge the competition – although you never know if Mary Berry hears about it she might bob in too!”
The Great Gildersome Bake-Off will be held on Wednesday, September 24 at Café Sorella.
To enter the competition, contact the café on 0113 2530625, email Karen@cafesorella.co.uk or send a message on Facebook to confirm your entry.
