Chocolate Beauty Spa are celebrating after winning the Observer & Advertiser’s Salon of the Year 2014.

It is the first year of running the competition and Chocolate Beauty Spa on High Street has snagged the award for favourite salon after numerous client nominations.

The salon opened in January 2013 after Shanda Wright decided she wanted a career change.

She said: “Previously I worked at O2 but I decided I wanted my own business and since then Chocolate Beauty Spa has become my baby.

“We’ve recently renovated the salon so it looks nice and the girls concentrate on giving good service.

“We bring the best brands and current products. Everything is the top of the tree.”

Shanda believes it is their client focused approach that helped the salon stand out as a cut above the rest.

“One thing we focus on is our relationship with our clients and their experience.

“Making them have a good visit has rewarded us with them putting us forward for the competition.

“We have a really loyal client base.

“I feel ecstatic about winning. We have only entered two competitions and we have won both.

“We just won Business of the Year at Morley Business Awards and now we have won this.

“It was amazing to be told we’d won because it means that our clients think we are the best.

“It wasn’t only about me feeling excited, it was the team who have worked hard so it’s nice to win the award.”
