Easter holiday boredom wasn’t a problem for south Morley youngsters who spent their school break at a fun holiday club.
Children from the Newlands and Denshaw areas took part in activities at the Kids Alive Club at Newlands Methodist Church, including games, stories, crafts, singing, competitions and colouring.
Church volunteers ran the sessions with help from Morley Community Church and the Newlands and Denshaw Tenants and Residents Association. The club was set up after councillors, police and housing associations called for structured holiday play schemes to provide fulfilling and educational activities during school holidays. Volunteers gave over 100 hours of their time to ensure the scheme was a success.
“I would like to thank everyone who supported the club. Together they had provided funding grants, time, gifts in kind and equipment to make the week such a success,” said church minister Barbara Fairburn.
