Sherlock the Dog was out in Drighlington last week - but it wasn’t crime he was sniffing out.
Sherlock, West Yorkshire Police’s newest recruit in the dog section, was joined by officers from Morley NPT at Drighlington Primary School to help them celebrate their 10 year anniversary.
PC Paul Coates and PC Matthew Sedgley patrolled the event, talking to parents, children and visitors and helped a few young children dress up in mini police uniforms.
PCSO Jill Seaman, a familiar face in Drighlington, was cleverly disguised as Sherlock the Dog, who had a fun evening getting to know the children and even took to the dance floor to show off some moves.
PCSO Michelle Rollinson was an excellent dog handler, looking after Sherlock and making sure he didn’t get too giddy. She was joined by Special Constable Naz Ali and they were both kept busy talking to everyone.
A fun evening was enjoyed by all and it ended with a firework display.
