Shoppers heading to the White Rose Shopping Centre this summer are in for a whole host of fun thanks to a series of family-friendly events that will be running throughout the school summer holidays.
Running for six weeks all day, every Tuesday and Wednesday, from July 23- August 28 , families can come enjoy arts and crafts workshops, competitions, treasure hunts, face painting and poster making, all of which will take place in the Hello Summer Hub. As part of the summer holiday activity, the White Rose is looking for 10 worthy children from across Leeds to come along to the centre as VIPs to officially open the hub. Each week it will take on a different theme, including safari, pirates and princesses and monsters and aliens, and all activities will be free for children and their parents to get involved in. Richard Bowler, centre director at the White Rose, said: “We’re looking for 10 extra-special children to come down to the centre to help us officially launch our Hello Summer activities on July 23, so we’d like to invite any parents and teachers from across West Yorkshire to nominate children who they think deserve to be one of our VIPs. “We’ve got lots of entertainment planned for the summer holidays, so I’d encourage parents to bring their little ones down to the centre – children will receive their own special passport and the chance to earn stickers for free prizes according to the number of days that they attend, so make sure you don’t miss out.” Anyone interested in nominating a child to be one of the VIPs and officially open the Hello Summer Hub can email whiterose@onlybeat tie.com with reasons why they should be chosen. The first Hello Summer activities will take place from 10am on Tuesday, July 23 and Wednesday, July 24 in the Hub, which will be located in the Central Atrium.
