A teenager is in a critical condition in hospital after falling through the roof of a derelict building.
Police have confirmed that a 16 year-old boy is being treated for serious head injuries at Leeds General Infirmary following the incident, which happened on Tuesday afternoon at Treefield Industrial Estate on Gelderd Road, Gildersome.
It is believed that the boy was one of a group of youngsters who were on the roof at the time, though no criminal activity is suspected to have taken place.
A police spokesman said: “Police were called to a disused industrial building on Gelderd Road, Morley at about 3.10pm on Tuesday April 7 to a report a 16-year-old male had fallen through a roof skylight and sustained serious injuries.
“The teenager was taken to Leeds General Infirmary where he is being treated for serious head injuries. He remains in a critical but stable condition.
“Enquiries remain ongoing.”
The boy’s identity has not been revealed.
