ADWALTON had to settle for a point from their CYL Division Three contest away to New Farnley A.
They suffered their first defeat of the season, but at least denied their opponents a maximum haul in making 164-6 in reply to the first innings 217-5.

A massive extras total of 44 helped the Adwalton cause, but although a number of their batsmen
made a start they could not go on to make a big knock with opener Adam Foreman hitting 22 and Craig Hotchen 19. New Farnley's innings had earlier included contributions of 80 from Michael Royce and 56 from Ben Moody while Simon Bagnell claimed 3-29 and there was one wicket each for Steven Laycock and Byron Greenwood.

ADWALTON A batted well in posting a 200 plus score against East Leeds A in Division Four, but ended as the losing side.

Going in first, the Drighlington-based team were given a good start through opener Graeme Johnson (91) and Ian Lindley (32). John Mitchell then took the scoring on with a knock of 41 not out and they reached 214-8 from their 45 overs.

East Leeds batsmen also found conditions to their liking, although from 70-1 they suffered a collapse to 95-5 and hopes were high for an Adwalton victory.

However, opener Steve Lines was still there and he went on to make 96. With good support coming from Adam Lines, with 54, the visitors paced their run chase perfectly to reach their target at the start of the final over with two wickets to spare.

Four Adwalton bowlers had wicket success with Dean Jackson taking 2-52, James Emmott 2-28, Graham Smith 2-43 and Chris O'Reilly 1-37.
