Celtic open with defeats

ARDSLEY Celtic made a disappointing start to the new season when they were edged out in a five-goal thriller at Overthorpe in the Premier Division of the West Riding County Amateur League.
Russell Land and Dale Hanson were on target, but Celtic lost 3-2.
A second defeat followed on Saturday when Ardsley were four down by half-time and lost 4-2 at home to Campion despite goals from Dave Cateroche and Dale Hanson.
Morley Town play their first game of the season in Division Two this Saturday when they take on Dynamoes at home, kick-off 2.30pm. All players should meet at Glen Road at 1.15pm.
Churwell Lions kicked off the new season in Division One of the West Yorkshire League with a 2-0 defeat at Kellingley Welfare.
Beeston St Anthony's were involved in a high scoring draw in their opener, finishing level at 4-4 with Wetherby Athletic in the Premier Division.
Beeston's reserves were victorious, however, beating Rothwell Athletic's second team 4-0 in the Alliance Division One.
