Pontefract U13 Girls 1
Churwell Lions U13 Girls 9

AN impressive all-round team display gave Churwell their biggest victory of the season in this friendly against the winners of West Riding League Division Two.

Lions took the lead in the fifth minute when Jenny Moore fired in from a corner and Ellie Cammish then doubled the lead from close range after a Moore shot had been blocked.

Pontefract pulled the score back to 2 -1 shortly afterwards, but with Olivia Hughes and Chelsea Dyson commanding in defence Lauren Ogle had little else to do in goal. Kristi Kay set up Moore to score from the edge of the box and a neat back post finish from Cammish after good work from Georgia Hughes gave Churwell a 4-1 half-time lead.

Moore completed her hat trick with a low shot from Emily Maryniak's pass and Amy Caulfield scored the sixth from the edge of the box. Chelsea Dyson made it seven from a corner and Moore scored her fourth after dribbling round the keeper. Nicole Clayton then completed the scoring with a first time shot into the bottom corner. Ellie Cammish was voted player of the match.

Churwell take on Elland in the West Riding Girls' Football League U13 Shield Final on Sunday at Willow Park School, Pontefract, kick-off 4.45pm. All support appreciated.
