A BATTLING half century from Stewart Donohoe proved invaluable as ADWALTON won a low scoring contest with Scholes A in CYL Division Three.
Opener Donohoe held the innings together and scored more than half his side's runs when he made 59 in Adwalton's 114 all out. Support came from Simon Johnson with 18 and Simon Bagnell, 12, but it was generally a struggle on a tricky wicket.

Howeve
r, Scholes batsmen were to find conditions equally tough. After a decent start through openers Tom Hoyle (19) and Andy Spencer (35 not out) they collapsed to 81 all out. Mark Sales did much of the damage in taking 5-13 from 9.3 overs while Bagnell claimed 3-12 in 12 overs and there was one wicket apiece for Steve and Neil Laycock.

The six-point win lifted Adwalton to fifth place and to within 10 of second-placed Scholes A at the half way mark.

ADWALTON A had to settle for one point from their Division Four game after bowling opponents Northowram Fields A out.

The visitors went in first and made 186 thanks largely to a century stand for the third wicket between Sam Britain (69) and Paul Flesher (61). Josh Bowles, with 4-43, and Matthew Lyles, 4-18, were the pick of the Adwalton bowlers.

Adwalton's reply started well enough when they reached 75-2, but after Graeme Johnson (21) and Paul Bennett (48) fell the innings lost its way and only Josh Bowles, with 20, offered much further resistance as they were all out for 151.
