Dream start but United have to settle for a point

DESPITE getting off to a dream start, Leeds United had to be content with a point on their long travel to Yeovil on Saturday.
Argentian striker Luciano Becchio marked his first start in a Leeds shirt with a goal after only 25 seconds when he cleverly aimed a shot into the corner of the net following a ball over the top from centre back Rui Marques.
But United could not add to their tally despite having several chances and were made to pay when the hosts scored from a controversially awarded penalty.
Centre back Paul Huntington was deemed to have pushed Paul Warne in the box, although the ball was not dropping to them, and although Lloyd Owusu's penalty was saved by Casper Ankergren the Yeovil striker netted from the rebound.
Leeds now hope for better fortune when they host Crystal Palace in round two of the Carling Cup tomorrow night (7.45pm).
